The Mondo™ Nuskyn® drumhead sounds natural, warm, and full-bodied with enhanced low and mid-range frequencies, without any lingering high-pitched overtones. The Mondo drumhead is constructed with an Acousticon shell, and a ½" support rim around the outer perimeter for mounting a tension ring and is ideal for Educational and Recreational drumming. The Mondo Nuskyn drumhead frequency analysis shows it closely resembles the performance of animal skin, while actually expanding the sound response spectrum dramatically.
To replace and tune a Remo Mondo™ djembe drumhead, first remove all drum tuning rods and parts in a crisscross method, replace the drumhead, and reassemble. For tuning, tighten the rods in a crisscross pattern, adjusting the tension gradually to achieve the desired pitch. The drumhead will stretch over time, and replacement is needed when the tuning hardware bottoms out.
