Jeremy Cohen is a Massachusetts-based percussionist, teaching artist and arts entrepreneur. He is founder and director of ThisWorldMusic® LLC which partners with educational institutions and arts organizations to offer innovative, hands-on cultural learning experiences in the US, West Africa and Cuba.

Clients and affiliates include: The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, The Boston Symphony Orchestra, Knox College, University School of Milwaukee, University of Rhode Island, Saint Mary’s College of California, New England Conservatory, Sarah Lawrence College and school districts nationwide, including Memphis, TN; Oakland, CA; Providence, RI; and Boston, MA.

A former middle school music director, Mr. Cohen works with incarcerated youth through the Massachusetts Department of Youth Services and is adjunct professor of Music at Central Connecticut State University (graduate level), Westfield State University and UMass Amherst (graduate level), where he designs and leads music and dance cultural field study courses in Ghana, West Africa, and Cuba.

Mr. Cohen sits on the Young Audiences Board of Directors and has consulted for The School District of Philadelphia and The Center for Music National Service.

He holds a B.A. in Music from U.C. Berkeley, a M.M. in Composition from New England Conservatory and studied traditional music and dance in Ghana.
