With the help of some great weather, the drum circle held at the 2009 WGI Percussion World Championships created an equally inspiring atmosphere as to what the competing ensembles had made inside at the competition. Held in the University of Dayton parking lot between Open Class and World Class Finals events, REMO and Bongo Boy Music of Indianapolis Indiana provided an assortment of drums for all to enjoy.
The circle picked up even more steam as world drumming expert/WGI judge Matt Savage joined in and took a few moments in the facilitator seat to take participants on a therapeutic journey.
“The thing about drum circles is they teach people to work in a group and really get in tune with their sense of rhythm,” Savage said.” The event was a rousing success that gave a fresh energy to all in attendance.
