Santa Clara Vanguard returns from hiatus to claim the 2024 Fred Sanford Award for Best Percussion Performance, driven by Remo's world-class drumheads

Remo congratulates the Santa Clara Vanguard, winners of the 2024 Drum Corps International (DCI) Fred Sanford Award for Best Percussion Performance. Led by Remo artists Paul Rennick, Sandi Rennick, and K.J. Stafford, and directed by Gio Bastante, SCV has won the award six times in the past decade. This year’s feat is even more remarkable because Vanguard went on hiatus for the 2023 season.

Remo drumheads powering SCV to their fifth award in the past seven seasons are the Black Max snare batter, Falams II snare side, Renaissance Emperor Crimplock tenor heads, Powermax bass heads, Fiberskyn concert bass, and Renaissance Custom Hazy w/low-steel insert timpani heads.  

Congratulations to the entire Vanguard organization on an amazing year!
