Born in 1962, percussionist Harry Adorno, was raised in New York City's El Barrio, where he was influenced by all forms of Latin culture. By the age of eleven, Harry had developed a kinship with salsa music and joined The Boys Harbor of Music, a music school at The Museum of El Barrio, which is now the Harbor Conservatory for the Performing Arts. Harry started playing Latin Music professionally in 1988 when he joined "Grupo Fascinacion", one of the more popular Latin bands of the time. He later joined Sergio George's RMM Productions, which, as well as being a wonderful experience for Harry, enabled him to work with a wide range of artists including Cheo Feliciano, Celia Cruz, Ruben Blades, Adalberto Santiago, Junior Gonzales, Raulin Rosendo, the belated Frankie Luiz, and many other notable Latin performers. As one of the most highly sought after session musicians in Latin music today, Harry not only performs with many of its greatest artists, but also records with a number of them. He has appeared on Raulin Rosendo's album Lo Maximo, Simplemente; on Junior Gonzales's album Mis Raizes; and on Willie Colon's album Demasiado Corazon. Harry has also recorded with Ray Santos and his Big Band, and with Cachao. He toured with Willie Colon for the past five years, and is currently playing with the Copacabana Band. As a freelancer, Harry plays with numerous artists, both in town and out.
