Greg Herrington grew up in Louisiana. At the age of 13, as the house drummer for the Gospel Hayride, he quickly learned how to cover many styles of music. A few years later he made the move to Nashville, where his band, “Twenty-Twenty” would record two records. After the second record, the bands producer, Billy Smiley, began using Greg on many Nashville sessions, which quickly lead to bigger and better opportunities. During the next few years, beginning in 1988, Greg would record and tour with Christian artists; Geoff Moore and the Distance, Audio Adrenaline, Susan Ashton, Wes King, DC Talk, Out of the Grey, The Gotee Brothers, Sonic Flood, Chris Rice, Jennifer Knapp and Ginny Owens. In 1996, Greg landed the drumming chair with Martina McBride, where he still resides. During that time Greg has toured across the US and Europe with Martina and appeared on The Grammy’s, The Today Show, Letterman, Conan, The Tonight Show, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Craig Ferguson, The View, Emeril Live, Good Morning America, Ellen, ACM, CMA, CMT awards, MTV Fashion Rocks, American Idol and Oprah. Greg has also performed at Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, 2002 Winter Olympics, Super Bowl Concert with Sting, Sheryl Crow, No Doubt and Crossroads performances with Train and Pat Benatar. He has also toured with Martina on tours that have included Trace Adkins, Garth Brooks, Reba, Tim McGraw, Kid Rock, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Andy Griggs, LoneStar, Diamond Rio, Lady A, Little Big Town, Keith Urban, Blake Shelton and Alan Jackson. Greg Herrington has kept his approach to drumming simple.
