Norman Weinberg is the Director of Percussion Studies at the University of Arizona, a position he has held at UA since 1997. His responsibilities include teaching applied percussion lessons from Freshman through D.M.A. level; directing the UA Percussion Ensembles; directing CrossTalk, the UA Electronic Percussion Group, and overseeing directors of the Rosewood Marimba Band, UA Steel and Blue Steel, and Malleus, the Graduate Percussion Quartet. In addition, Norman teaches courses in Percussion History and Literature, and Percussion Pedagogy.

Before coming to UA, Norm was the Professor of Percussion at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas and Adjunct Professor of Music at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. He held these positions for eighteen years. Norman has also taught at the Rubin Academy of Music in Jerusalem, Israel; and at Indiana University, Florida State University, and the Conservatory of Music at the University of Missouri at Kansas City.

In 2002, Norman was honored to be the recipient of the Maestro Award from the University of Arizona School of Music and Dance, awarded "in recognition of his students' outstanding achievements."

In 1992, Norman was selected to be Del Mar College's faculty representative to the "National Seminar for Master Teachers".

While at Del Mar, Norman was twice nominated for the "Minnie Piper Stevens Award" for Outstanding Teaching.
