Doug sole, co-owner of soul drums ltd, is an internationally recognized drum circle facilitator, author, educator, and inspirational keynote speaker. Doug helps schools, communities and corporations reach their potential by integrating values-centered leadership with human rhythmic energy™ using world music and percussion. His innovative publications and training programs have led him to be recognized as a major influencial force in the north american drum circle community. In his first publication in 1994 he developed a notation system that has become the standard form in which world drumming is notated on the world wide web. Doug has designed courses for and trains teachers to fulfill the new challenges in today’s educational curriculum. He has presented his sessions in multiple formats including “classroom programs, concerts, pd day programming, health and wellness sessions and corporate teambuilding events. Since the 1990’s doug’s forward thinking helped spawn and grow new markets for hand drumming and the drum circle phenomenon. He enjoys great success with his comprehensive and unique cd’s, dvd’s and books entitled “the soul of hand drumming, and “human rhythmic energy.” he speaks and performs to over ten thousand people per year. Doug’s professional speaking engagements and drum circle events have included attendees such as; senator, and the hon. Romeo dallaire; our auditor general of canada, the hon. Sheila fraser; ontario’s premier and past minister of education, kathleen wynne, who also recognizes and thanks doug as making a profound difference in the lives of our youth. His corporate clients range from fortune 500/100 companies, to government institutions in the federal and provincial sectors within canada. Recently, the simcoe county board of education hired doug to implement his transformational leadership program throughout their board. His publications are now mandatory curriculum in their schools.
