Doug Hinrichs

Doug Hinrichs is a percussionist and composer based in New York City. He performs and records with countless artists in the New York City area and beyond, and has several Broadway show credits to his name. Doug is perhaps best-known for his work in the musical “In The Heights,” for which he played drums and percussion during the show’s developmental years, and held the percussion chair for its full run on Broadway.

Doug’s percussion tracks have been on jingles for ESPN, PowerAde, The New York Knicks, and Miller Lite Beer. His credits as a composer include placements of his pieces on the USA, CBS, and ABC television networks. He also remains very active in the Broadway/theater scene.   

A specialist in ethnic percussion, Doug also performs often on drum set, mallet and orchestra percussion, and steel pan. He is the inventor of the One-Handed Triangle, which is manufactured and sold worldwide by LP (Latin Percussion).
