"When I was 15, Frank at my local music shop recommended I try Remo in an attempt to “get something” from my £60 drum kit. A big ask, but It worked a treat! Since that day I’ve always played Remo. I started and continued with Pin Stripes from our first demo’s all the way through getting signed and recording our debut album in Rockfield. Then things changed slightly when I recorded Kerbdog’s second album with Gggarth Richardson at Sound City. Garth would only record with Remo Ambassador Coated, I tried that setup and loved it, the sound and the attack was fantastic, they also suited and cut through our full-on sound. So for many tours and recording sessions since, I’ve used Ambassador Batter.
A couple of years ago, I played a friend’s kit live which had Ambassador Clears on the toms, the physical feedback felt amazing, so that has become my current live setup. For both floor toms I use Powerstroke P3’s. I love the sound control, sustain control and the tune-ability is really great, especially rushing at festivals etc. Since I switched to P3’s, I rarely need to use gels, but now and again if there’s no time/silence to tune 100%, Crown Control Gels are a lifesaver! For my bass drum I use an Ambassador SMT Clear which gives me a deep controlled bottom end, allowing me to drop my tuning, yet gain the perfect attack from the added Remo Falam Slam patch. On my snare, I tune it quite high and play rim shot. I use an Ambassador Controlled Sound, which sounds and feels great, and keeps any ring from my high tuning high in check. For me, Remo have always been consistent, reliable and sound amazing in both the studio and on the live stage!" -Darragh Butler
