Aaron’sformal journey began at the University of Graz, where hestudied Jazz Drums, quickly transitioning into the professional world as astudio musician for legendary Falco producer Robert Ponger.His early career was marked by versatility, moving from the award-winningPop/Rock outfit Mesiac to the Frank Zappa tributeproject, Chris der Berg und die Unverbrauchten.
Performance and Spectacle
Thier isas much a performer as he is a musician. He also regularly performed as a soloartist at international drumfestivals and workshops, including the PPC HanoverDrumnight, Superdrumming Festival and Dresdner Drumfestival.His flair for the dramatic led to collaborations with the DrumaticalTheatre, performances at the Life Ball, andinternational tours with the drum theater production "Wumm"(Studio Percussion Ensemble).
Collaboration and Versatility
Throughouthis career, Aaron has been a sought-after collaborator across diverse genres:
- Pop/Rock: Touring with Australian singer Tamee Harrison and joining the iconic Austrian group Erste Allgemeine Verunsicherung (EAV) in 2015. He also worked for the Powerpipes, Blockwerk, Falco Tribute, Felicia Taylor and the german 80s and studio musicians band Tokyo.
- Jazz/Fusion: Co-founding the TaucherWendtThier Trio, the CARA Quartett, and most recently, the instrumental powerhouse GVT Trio (2022).
- Progressive/Metal: Contributing to Circle of Illusion and The Gerald Peter Project.
- Studio & Production: Working with artists like Gary Howard (Flying Pickets), Ewald Pfleger (Opus), Gert Steinbäcker (STS) and Panzerballett, while currently serving as both a band member and producer for AnJosef (become famous on "The Voice")
