The Symmetry Nuskyn® Conga drumhead is our most versatile Conga drumhead in terms of fit. Nuskyn provides natural, warm, and full-bodied sound with enhanced low and mid-range frequencies, without any lingering high-pitched overtones. Remo drumheads that fit the LP Compact Conga in sizes 11" and 11.75" include Fiberskyn, Skyndeep (with Calfskin or Black Calfskin graphics), and Nuskyn options. Fiberskyn heads are available in 10.75" and 11.75", while Skyndeep and Nuskyn heads also come in both sizes. All drumheads use Remo’s Symmetry design for optimal fit. These codes indicate the inner diameter (ID) of the aluminum ring, which determines how the head fits inside the drum’s counter hoop. D1 = smallest fit, D4 = largest fit The crown size (playing surface) stays the same—only the ID changes to match various drum brands.
Symmetry is an improvement on the older Crimplock construction. Crimplock refers to the aluminum flesh-hoop crimped over the film that seats inside the channel (of the flesh-hoop) with glue. The Symmetry type is the addition of symmetrical folds around the collar that conform to the bearing edge as you tension so it's easier on your hands and provides increased projection (better contact between head and drum), tunability (how the film stretches and seats), and durability (as the head conforms, there's more tension on the collar and less stress directly on the flesh-hoop).
