In 1997, Bob Bloom received certification as a "Master Teaching Artist" by The Connecticut Office of the Arts. He leads interactive, arts-integration drumming presentations in education settings: Multiple-day residencies, school assemblies, classroom sessions, out-of-school-time activities, student-featured performances, and enrichment programs.

From 2007 to 2010 he was the chair of the Interactive Drumming Committee of The Percussive Arts Society.

For seventeen years, Bob served as a faculty assistant to Dr. Babatunde Olatunji for his "Language of the Drums" courses at The Omega Institute, Rowe Conference Center, and The Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. He played the djun-djun drum as a member of Olatunji's performance company "Drums of Passion".

Bob's professional development workshop, "Interocktive Drumming", teaches leadership skills for interactive, arts-integration drumming to educators and service providers. The workshop has been presented by:

National Association for Music Education; Connecticut After-School Network; New England League of Middle Schools; Connecticut Office of the Arts; Neag Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development; American Music Therapy Association; Percussive Arts Society; Connecticut Association for the Gifted; Southern Connecticut State University.
