What is the difference between the Emperor X and the Powerstroke X?
Emperor X Drumheads have more open properties than Powerstroke X. Powerstroke X heads are easy to tune because they are manufactured with a 2 mil inlay ring for overtone control. Emperor X heads are the most durable Mylar heads on the market. Both heads feature extreme durability but have different overtone characteristics.

Place the 4 segmented rings on top of the drumhead and form a circle. Lay the drum in a horizontal position with the drumhead facing up. Place the Tray over the Foam. Place the Counterhoop over the Tray. Add Claw Hooks and Tension Rods. Turn the drum over in the vertical playing position. Attach the Bass Drum Pedal. Product subject to change without notice. Drumhead types are specific to the type of counter-hoop used on the drum. Drums with wooden counter-hoops, most common on bass drums, require a 'bass-type' drumhead which has a wide gauge aluminum flesh-hoop to properly seat and tune up. Drums that use metal counter-hoops, most common on snare and toms, require a non-bass drumhead which has a thinner gauge aluminum flesh-hoop to seat inside. Players have managed to interchange head types in some cases, but it's not likely nor recommended for optimum performance. *We also identify with the part #'s where the 3rd digit is '0' for snare/tom and '1' for bass use. For example: PINSTRIPE® CLEAR DRUMHEAD, 20" PS-0320-00 is for snare/tom style PS-1320-00 is for bass style.
Yes, drumheads for Premier model drums are still available for purchase. In the 1980's, Remo worked closely with Premier to develop tooling for 4 major sizes: Rack Toms- 10" (9-5/8" actual diameter), 12" (11-7/8" actual diameter); Floor Toms-16" (16-5/16" actual diameter); and Bass-20" (19-5/8" actual diameter). Please note: some Premier models were made outside of these 'standardized' sizes, and may require a full custom made-by-hand drumhead.
