Alessandra Belloni is an award-winning tambourine virtuoso, singer, dancer born in Rome, Italy and is committed to preserving the rich traditions of her culture. Artistic Director/Lead Performer of "I GIULLARI DI PIAZZA", co-founder , artist-in-residence at The Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City, designer of her REMO signature series Italian tambourines and of special brushes for tambourine with Regal Tip. Her work as teacher and healer brought her to be the main feature of the documentary film about her as artist and healer, TARANTELLA TRANCE DANCE (series Living Shamanism), by French American filmmaker Manex Ibar, to be soon released. Alessandra holds her annual healing dance and percussion workshops in Tuscany, Italy. Selected as one of the best percussionists and recording artist in the world by DRUM!, The New York Times, and The Los Angeles Times, she is the only artist in the world who specializes in Southern Italian tambourines combined with singing and dance that she learned from the elderly people in drumming festivals in Southern Italy.
