Alzheimer's Disease

As many as 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer's destroys brain cells, causing problems with memory, thinking and behavior severe enough to affect work, lifelong hobbies or social life. (Alzheimer’s Association)

Remo Drum Table - I consulted with Remo on the design of this drum as a direct result of the research that Dr. Alicia Clair (University of Kansas) and I conducted for persons with Alzheimer’s Disease. We found that participation levels increased when participants felt the vibration from the drum. The Drum Table was designed to be used with persons in wheelchairs. It has proven to be a useful tool with all Music Therapy populations.
