Jimmie Morales visits the Vega Alta School in Puerto Rico
Valencia, CA – Jimmie Morales, conga player for Gilberto Santa Rosa Orchestra and native of Puerto Rico, performs all over the world for packed audiences. He still makes time to visit schools and talk about playing and tuning the conga and the responsibilities of a professional musician.
He recently visited the Vega Alta School in Puerto Rico at the request of the music teacher, Edgar Martinez.
While showing the students different techniques and sounds, he also
demonstrates the advantages of using Remo synthetic drumheads versus
calf skin drumheads.
He explains how the synthetic drumheads help him
not get tired when playing for 2 hours as he does while performing with
the Gilberto Santa Rose Orchestra.
Jimmie enjoys talking and playing music with the students as well as traveling the world with Gilberto Santa Rosa.
