In Memory of Paulo Mattioli
Valencia, CA – Paulo Mattioli passed away Saturday, October 22nd, after a long and difficult battle with brain cancer. He was a much loved member of the drumming community and a dear friend and product supporter of Remo, Inc. He is survived by his three brothers; Sam, David and Michael, and two sisters; Maria and Nancy, and his dear Mother, Arlene.
As expressed by Remo Belli, “We are all saddened by the passing of Paulo Mattioli. Paulo contributed greatly to the idea that playing the drum could be fun and a friendly activity. Yes, he will be missed.” Paulo contributed to the community on many levels and for many years. He was the founder of Rhythm Journey, Rhythm Ranch, Fit Rhythms, and as a Remo artist, helped to create the Remo Paulo Mattioli Signature Djembe. These ongoing contributions will be appreciated by many for years to come and his absence is deeply felt.
His condition did not stop him from attending the annual NAMM drum circle last January in Anaheim, sharing with the community how much healing he received by playing his drum throughout his treatment.
Memorial Mass for Paulo will be held at St. John's Church, November 12, at 2pm. Reception following in the church hall, 1001 Encinitas Blvd. Encinitas, CA.
