Today at our school's pops concert, I set up all my own cymbals. In lieu of the Zildjian 18" ZHT fast crash that is normally our suspended cymbal, I put up my old 18" Zildjian that I got for forty bucks. It is much browner than the much-newer ZHT, and as such looks quite different from it. Another drummer in our section (who I could rant about for days) saw it and said this great line: "Eww, where did that come from? It's ugly!

Quite loving my old cymbal, I was a bit offended, but oh well - some people just don't get it. Stupid

In my opinion, my aged Zildjian is much more beautiful than a shiny ZHT, and if he thinks this cymbal is ugly, I'm guessing he'd throw up at the sight of my K Custom Dry Ride, what with its deep hammering and dark streaks:

I'm odd man out here.

Have cymbals with a finish and I'm not even Finnish. However, I don't feel depraved because my cymbals are lathed. I can make them behave and come away unscathed.

Sad thing is that this guy wouldn't know the difference between a ZHT or a K or anything in terms of sound, material, quality, etc, at the very least. He's just...loud.

I think that beautiful picture of the Poh-Bop is a winner!

I call these the chocolate milk of cymbals. Different color, different flavor, just as tasty Big Smile. They look great guys.
