Here is a classic that we recorded in Mike's (our guitar player) studio.
http://media.putfile.com/Stormy-Monday
Drums are a Yamaha Stage Custom Advantage 12", 13", 16" , with the snare 14"x5.5" that comes with this set.
Cymbals Sabian B8 18" Crash/Ride, 16" Thin Crash, 13" Hats.
Yamaha Stocks Heads as Batter and Resonants for the Toms and Bass Drum (Three years old, lol!), White Emperor in the batter side, Yamaha stock as batter.
Drums were recorded using 4 mic set-up: two overheads, one additional mic for snare and Bass Drum (I am going to check brands and update the post)
You will listen crumbs here and there and the sax sound was not the best because we did not use a high quality microphone that make justice what he does.
A warning for the young lions, it seems easy music to play but you would need to play it to know how demanding is keep up with the nuances involved in this style
Thanks for listening!
Black Panther (Mapex) Velvetone Drum Set. Rocket Shell 14x5, Yamaha SD493 Brass Piccolo and Black Panther Velvetone Snare Drums. Zildjian Cymbals. Remo Heads.

Hi everybody,
A classic jazz standard, "'Round Midnight", at http://www.mikejamesjazz.com/media/trio_tunes/michael_powers2/live_at_eddies_031807/10_round_midnight.mp3
This is a live recording (single AKG "Perception 100" mic.) of my jazz trio, with guest artist Michael Powers, who playes a "Frame Works" MIDI controller guitar. So, although the trio is keyboard, bass, and drums, you'll hear both guitar and trumpet from Michael Powers. ( His site is at http://www.michaelpowersmusic.com ) This was done with no rehearsal, as Michael Powers had just flown in. So considering that, I'm pleased with the results. (no mixing, effects, or editing) THANK YOU, REMO, for making it easy for me to get the drum sound I want!
These are all 1938 Slingerland "Radio King" drums, except for the snare, which is a 1970 Slingerland (4 X 14) "Buddy Rich model". They include a 14 X 24 bass drum, 9 X 13 mounted tom, and 16 X 16 floor tom. All use white-coated Remo "Diplomat" heads with no muffling. Bass drum uses white-coated "Ambassodor" heads, with a 3-inch felt strip behind each head. Cymbals are A. Zildjian 14" New Beat Hi-Hats, 21" Light Ride, 18" Thin crash, and 18" Med-Thin crash.
